Johns entered the real estate field in 2004 with Boca Grande Real Estate, where he helped home buyers and sellers throughout Florida’s Gulf Coast. As a waterfront specialist, Johns has his US Coast Guard Master License, which is a necessity for showing properties by boat.

Johns is one of the founders of the Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce and served as its president multiple times. He is also the founder of the World’s Richest Tarpon Tournament, and is a past director of the Fishing Guides Association. He is also a founding member of the Historic Society, a volunteer fireman and the director of the Lee County Reef Association.
